Bathrooms With Personality

Bathrooms With Personality

I’m not sure exactly why, but the WC, maybe more than any other room in the house, needs a little personality and cheeky playfulness. How do we make the bathroom fun? Through color, texture and pattern.

Here are a few lively bathrooms we’ve recently designed.

We picked this Edwina White wallpaper, featuring a series of charming dogwalkers, because the client is mad for their Boxer, Phoebe. The colors in the paper bring out the pine-green of the wall tile and the floor’s terracotta hue.
This client is a professional performer and has a passion for theater; it tickled us to think of her guests having an audience in the bathroom. Fornasetti Teatro.
We carved this bathroom out of a third floor attic space. We wallpapered both the walls and ceiling in Mokum vinyl paper. The Casablanca tile is partially glazed which gives the tight space a bit of depth.
We all start and end each day in the bathroom. The loo is also the one room in your house that guests experience without the benefit of your company. Making the bathroom fun and personal is a way of carrying on the conversation.
