Above you’ll see my client’s living room and its quiet seating nook against the windows. There’s a small table where you can play games or enjoy a cup of tea with company. To the left you can read a book in the the blue mohair armchair next to the fire. Our goal was to carve out several distinct spaces within the room. We took advantage of every square inch!
Featured above is the room’s main sofa and lounge area. The sofa, reupholstered in emerald green velvet, is wide enough to serve as a daybed for overnight guests. The vintage storage chest on the side hides throw blankets and extra pillows for guests.
Directly across from the sofa is the fireplace. The TV hides behind a Michelle Mannix painting. The built-in bookshelves create a quiet nook in the corner and evoke the feeling of being in a cozy library. The ottoman is on wheels so it can travel to whereever in the room it’s needed!
The leather Louis XIV armchair, seated in front of the elegant and practical secretary’s desk, moves between here, the window seat, and the dining table when needed for extra guests.
The low-hung pendant light in the dining area really creates a space-within-a-space.
