Washington DC Home

This family of five, plus a dog named Sunny, live a fun and active lifestyle. It was important to them to source unique vintage furniture from the start. They have a love for color, pattern and textures and appreciate unique textiles. Family and pet friendly textiles were a must.
We provided the overall design scheme for this project including opening archways and creating custom millwork. From there our client's worked with a local millworker to execute the vision. It was our task to furnish the home with a sense of playful sophistication throughout. We created a storage bench in the entry above and chose a color palette that added a lot of depth and texture to the space.
We sourced a pair of vintage Alky armchairs by Giancarlo Piretti and reupholstered them in Dedar's iconic velvet, Tiger Mountain.
We love this perspective, peeking through one archway and into another. These arches were already existing, we just widened and reshaped them. We designed the entry bench to have ample shoe storage below. The light is Urban Electric.
We partnered with the London based design studio Hunt&Hope to create bespoke hand-stitched needlepoint for the dining room chairs. This is a modern spin on a monogram, the 'eye' represents the first letter of their last name. Every eye color correlates to each person in the family.
This is our Charlotte ottoman, custom designed for this project in Pierre Frey's Teddy Mohair. The chair behind is is one of four vintage swivel chairs we reimagined with an energetic textile combination.
The kitchen nook is a versatile spot in the home, used for many different purposes. This client specifically asked for two accent chairs that felt more sophisticated for when friends are hanging out and enjoying a cocktail.
